and some people wonder why...

whats goin on ya'll.
well i've left the turbo-import scene forever and im now the proud father of a 1964 impala SS w/ the 327 and the big 4 brl. 2speed powerglide and stock 3.36 rear. Power steering, brakes, windows and factory installed A/C (rare, but broken) She makes 300 horses easy, which is waaay more than my old little 4banger ever thought of making off tha juice.

Anyway i've done all the prerequisite work to get it safe, new idler arm, swaybar endlinks, A-arm bushings, new brake wheel cylinders/shoes/hoses, wheelbearings, bodymount bushings/hardware, tuned up the engine, literaly a dozen new gaskets(tranny pan still leaks), fixed the radiator, freakin fuel leak to carb, elec. shorts and whatnot. Im gonna square up the body and replace the rockers and a couple floor pans in the next few weeks, and bomb diggity of all bomb diggites i've gotta paint my fenderskirts and throw 'em on this weekend.

But moving on, I'm wondering what sort of system to use to help my bad girl shimmy up and down, I really want to bag it and am wondering what successes/failures any impala guys have had. now, im not one to half-ass things, but i'd really only like to bag the rear and use one of the faster systems. A compressor, tank, 2 bags, fittings/lines, fab up some brackets for the rear, couple switches, pressure release valves and fab some skid plates obviously. What brands? What sizes? Am i crazy to only want to bag the back, i just dont wanna sacrifice drivability. its already funky enuff driving this full power steering car w/ like a 28:1 steering ratio.

I'd just like to be able to raise and lower tha azz end of my car at tha flick of a switch (elec/pneumatic?). I'd like to be able to sit her on tha ground aswell as jack up tha rear a few higher than stock for when im about to floor it so get better traction as well as avoid excess squat on takeoff.

Thank ya'll and im sorry im long winded, but i'd really appreciate ya'lls help and expertise.
-SAV

edit: p.s this isnt a show car, its my daily driver and about a 20/20 car. And how much is this gonna hurt my pocket?

Thanx. Hey, did ya build up the motor at all, or is it mostly straight crate? What size tires are you running and did you have clearance problems? I saw your videos and damn, your car really moves mayn. Now that is how a lowrider is done.

thank you thank you

it's mostly stock, slightly cammed out, upgraded intake and carb.. mostly just looks pretty, but I can keep up with the muscle car guys around here when they want to try to show me up after a show

Plus, I love when I can pull ahead slightly, and then drop the ass down and shoot some sparks at them, lol

I run 155 80 13's on 13X7 reverse McLeans..
I had some 14's at first, but they rubbed horribly
