Post Reality check

This guy realy needs a new way to make money
Banking on Trouble N O R F O L K, Neb. — Maybe Curtis Boyd needs a reality check.

Boyd, 23, allegedly tried to cash a $22 million check he'd printed himself using a home computer program.

Police are currently searching for Boyd, who failed to appear at his arraignment on May 28. Boyd was arrested earlier in the month after drove up to the Bank of Norfolk drive-through teller window, and handed over the check, made payable to Curtis Boyd, police said.

The teller made a copy of the document and Boyd's driver's license, but then refused to deposit or cash the check.

The check didn't even have the name of a bank on it, said police Capt. Steve Hecker.

"He presented a check to them, they refused it," Hecker said. "He left the establishment and came back with the name of a fraudulent bank written on the check."

Boyd had added the handwritten name "Reality Perspective Bank" on the document, but the teller was not impressed, Hecker said. Bank officials called police, who arrested the would-be millionaire.

Police said they discovered another check — this time for $20,000 — from Reality Perspective Bank that Boyd attempted to cash earlier that same day.

The suspect may not have taken the money, but he appears to have run.

"As to where he's at or where he's going, we have no idea," Hecker said.
