when dealing with fiberglass i have a few suggestions. for one id use double layer of latex gloves if using normal disposable cheapies. if not get some hospital grade gloves (usually blue), they last awhile. there are two main types of fiberglass material, the cloth and the mat. the mat in my opinion is much easier to work with, you can get it in many thicknesses. you can get it at a place that restores boats, as well the laminating resin. i buy it in 5 gallon drums. way cheaper. the cloth from my experience tears up easily, no strands making a mess. but once you work with glass for awhile you have no problems with the strands from the stranded mat. also have a tone of acetone available to wash everything off. three to four layers makes what your doing strong. all your doing is fusing it together in the back. use body filler with microfiller, evercoat makes a good body filler. heard of something called Marglass from someone really knowledgeable. make sure you get to the filler before its completely hard. from there its just using a couple different types of sanding paper.
