Re: ????Mad Questions???
okay okay, You start on the four doors and I'll be the first to defend them. okay let me break it down for ya the best I know. The two door is sportier and are worth signifaicantly more than it's four door family. Now however the two door belair can be worth quite a bit of cash. There are not very many of them left. Now chevy got the big idea to put 409's in the Belair too. Now those ones are worth a ton of cash. The four door has always been the passenger vehicle not necessarily the sportiest car back in the day. Just look at what has happened to the early chev wagons. Try finding one now? most are expensive as hell too. There are not many left of those either. I like my four door alot. others seem to like it too. I go to car shows and people always comment. I do get the you should of got a two door on occasion, but then I usually the just hate on anything so I doesn't bother me any more. The older generation like it cause it reminds them of thier parents car or something they "had" to drive to school. I also get " you don't see many of the four doors being done these days" So I'm usually unique. I ended up with the four door cause at the time I ived in utah and there aren't very many old cars there cause the salt kicks thier ass. I found this one and decided to go for it. I've always been a fan of the four door Lincolns and thought what the hell let's try it. It's been fun and the big four doors look cool I think on the ground cause they're so big and long. My 64 is about 18 ft long. I also like the bigger curved glass than my car has which is unique too. At the show in July I saw a 60 four door belair that would blow your mind! it had a all tubed frame and air ride 20's everything. It was a national show winner and there was an amazing biscayne too. They can make it in the two door world.
I guess I was a victim of the old car trickle down effect. The super sports are the top of the line and are the first to be picked up. Then they become harder to find. Then it becomes two door Imapalas. Then you can't get one of them. Then the other models of two door, belair, and biscayne. Then you go to four door impalas. Then down to the belair and biscayne four doors. It's is jsut what's available. But the wagons came out of no where and they are being picked up really quickly too. it's already getting to the point you can't get them. Four doors will eventually get harder to find alot went to the crusher cause it became one of the "Who wants one of those?" cars. Alot are being picked up too and parted out to repair the two doors. So they will slowly disappear too. Four doors are popping up at shows more and more. It will be interesting what happens in the next few years and with many cities adopting junker laws and forcing people to move out the old cars in their yards. I for one am happy to have the car I have. it's my fo do ho hauler.
