I reckon i've got it now, Cool.

When the car is lifted the bottom of the top a-arm hits the frame and stops but the ram try's to continue expanding pushing the bottom A-arm away further, but the cant move because the top A-Arm is on the chassis so all the pressure goes into the ball joint.

So where do you mount the chains, from the chassis to the bottom A-arm keepign it short enough to prevent the top A-arm hitting the chassis rail ?
