Question newbie help

hey I wanna stick some hydros on my 84 buick regal, but I haven't a clue really of what I'm doing.

From what I've read here all I'd have todo is cut some holes in the spring cups for the cylinders to fit through.

Installing the pumps and stuff I shouldn't have too much problems with cause I found a pretty nice novice kit from prohopper(PH180)

Basically what I need to know is with that kit would I have to put chains on the rearend? how many batteries could I get by with, maybe 4? Would I have to reinforce the front crossmember or add support to the rearend? (can't remember what you guys called it).

I don't plan or really want to be able to hop with this setup, just a little up/down action.

any helpful hints or tips would be nice also.
if there's a better beginner's kits out there it would be nice to know.

any suggestions on reading materials websites that thing to help me get going on this project.

thanks
