Well me and a few friends just got finished doing a car in Dupont purple illusion which turns from purple to blue to even a green sometimes and it's like this...


the color itself is actually a dupont base black wich is like a flat black but you don't see it cause the flipflop is actually clear mixed with a whole helluva lot of small flake that shifts color with different light..

So you spray the black and let it almost cure but have it still be a lil bit tacky and then start shooting the clear/flake shit and you won't see the black. You'll see the flake that'll appear as a solid color... After you've shot bout 5 or 6 coats and have gotten the shift and color effect that you want then clear it and you have the flip flop paint... I don't know how else to explain it but if you have any questions lemme know and I'll see if I can answer it..

Sorta hard to explain.... like the marblized paint process or what makes "kandy" paint so special...
