Lightbulb Gas floats and guages.

Yes the floats sometimes gives your problems.
1. The cluster you changed and the sending unit mounted on the gas tank need to be the same. Sometimes even in the same year or cars and models manufactures have options like GS or SS or LTD etc, and have a high performance unit. So they will not communicate properly to each other. So if your sure they are the same great.
2. Next is the float and sending unit. If a car ever has sat for a long periods of time your gas tank will accumulate sediment in the bottom. And when you run the gas tank to fumes several times that tends to affect the sending unit and or the float. If your hopping the ASS END well that is an issue to consider also.
SOOOOOOOOOOO if you are going to tackle removing the tank and replacing the float and sending, It may be a good idea to park the ride for just a bit and drain, dry, inspect for holes, replace parts and paint it all.
If you are juiced then that much better to detail the ASS END with a high gloss black tank and some chrome straps
