The majority of these kits have a release machanism that allows the kit to hinge back. This is needed to either gain access to the fuel filler or to allow the trunk lid to open and close. The release mechanism is usually an electric solenoid backed up with a mechanical 'emergency' release.
Somehow that machanism has to mount to the existing bumper. Does the kit have nay kind of bolt holes on it anywhere?
